User research and competitor analysis
In order to improve the user experience, YBS wanted to introduce a payment functionality within their savings app. While various options were on the table, the preferred candidate for the payment gateway was NatWest's 'Payit,' an Open Banking solution.
The initial phase of the project involved an extensive competitor analysis and user research. This deep dive aimed to explore the diverse possibilities for the payment functionality and measure the anticipated reception of Open Banking integration among YBS app users.
From prototype and user testing to user flow and high-fidelity design
After validating the viability of the payment functionality, I embarked on the design phase. This included creating various prototypes and conducting user testing to refine the feature. The insights gathered from user testing informed the development of a user flow that seamlessly integrated with the Payit API, and subsequently, the creation of a high-fidelity design ready for production.
Every step of this user-centred process was meticulously documented to ensure compliance with consumer duty regulations mandated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
